The investors behind Big Blue Sky Games called on Word & Smith to lead the creation and growth of the entire organization, sourcing and developing talent from a team of 3 part-time contributors to an eventual roster of 25 full-time developers. From the initial studio proposal to the roadmap for a hotly anticipated game, we provided direction and leadership on creative strategy, finance, game production, and more.

Leyline

Defining a brand and leading its elaborate communications campaign.

When the visionary architects behind Leyline needed to put their bold ideas into concise, digestible copy, they turned to Word & Smith to lead them through the branding process—honing in on a clear and understandable mission, vision, and core values. From crucial spokesperson training and crisis communications planning to consistent staff biographies and content strategy oversight, we took Leyline’s strategy to the next level.

Word & Smith was brought on by Red Team Games to handle multiple responsibilities on Cards and Castles 2. We assisted on game design, text templating, production management, narrative development, and oversaw the project's marketing and communications strategy.
